Anyone Hyper...?

OK guys, lot of talk about Edge, Superchips, etc. Anyone using Hypertech's offering? I hear they have specifics for w w/o CAI, CAT back, etc. I'm looking for something that will work well now w/ my 05 SCrew. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, No Sh#@*. Any reason though? I mean, do they fall short in some area? No noticable difference? They seem to be proud of them on eBay and on website etc. Thanks in advance.

That's it, that's why I sold mine shortly after I got it. I was really disappointed with it. Funny thing is I had one for my 02 F150 that had a 4.6l and it did a lot more for it, that was the reason I bought another for my 05.

I was given a hypertech III and it works great for me, my truck is a 2000 F150- 5.4L 4x4.
I can, at last, drive faster than 105 mph without the governor cutting me off, the fastest I've gone, so far, is about 125 mph but I cant be sure since my speedometer doesnt go that high. One night while driving to Dallas from S. Tx I raced one of those new Mustangs (with the retro body style) all the way through Waco, I didnt stand a chance but it was fun lol.
I really like how it makes my truck run, the RPM limit is gone and as I already said, the top speed limit is also gone. Also, I really like how the transmission shifts now, the shifting is very firm and crisp, it is a very noticeable and positive difference in how my truck drives.
Prior to buying this truck, I had another F-150 but this one had the 4.6 L engine, I didnt have the programmer for that one but I cant stress enough how disappointing that engine is compared to the 5.4 L.

They fall short in all areas, as with all "canned" tune programmers for the new gen. f150's. To really unleash the potential of these trucks, a Troyer tuned xcal 2 is the way to go. That's the general consensus around here.

i had a hypertech on my 2001, it was great, the only reason I sold it was because I couldn't have it custom tuned and I went to 24# injectors so I sold the hypertech and got an Xcal2 the hypertech was much simpler to use and more idiot proof. It was great bang for the buck and the guy i sold it to loves it

when you are anwsering the questions when tuning the truck it asks what would you like to change the shift points and if you say yes it askes 1-2,2-3,3-4 and you can choose from plus 100 to pluss 500 hundred and thats the same with the revlimiter

So what are you guys using for numbers

5300 rpms 1-2
and
5200 rpms 2-3

leave the 3-4 alone and don't shift into overdrive (4th)at WOT you'll break something

Smile Hypertech Power Programer III

I have the Hypertech Power Programmer III on my 05 F150 and love it. I have increased fuel mileage by nearly 3-4 miles per gallon on 87 octane tune , but not somuch on the 93 octane tune as I cant keep my foot off the pedal. It has helped with the throttle lag alot. Not to mention I have a friend who works at Roush Performance and this unit comes highly regarded.
