I have a big question for everyone who has the edge evolution for the 1997-2003 f-150s. everytime that i have tried to update, it is still just the original initial release tune that is available. Ive tried re-installing the lightning software and the same thing happens. I thikn the initial release is called version 6. has anyone with the EEF2100 been able to actually update?

Right after I got my Edge about 2 weeks ago I uploaded all the Lightning connect software then checked for updates and the latest one out was already on the unit (made 04/07). I'm almost positive it was version 6.

 

i wonder why it wont let me get nay new updates. Everytime i check its july of 2006. Anyone have any ideas??

 

Yep, same thing for mine. Last update 7/06 is what it shows.

 

wtf...how can they not have a single update in almost a year?? what are they doing?

 

There probably aren't any updates for our EEF2100s since these trucks range from 4 to 10 years old, and the programming is pretty solid.

 

considering that they advertise these programmers as updatable, and mine has a glitch where it wont let me adjust for tire size........having no new programs would be less then ideal......anyoine agree

Hey I might know what is wrong. Delete all the edge software on your computer. put disc in then it says you can fix, load or delete, push delete, then go to the add/remove on your computer and remove the edge software. then go to edge site on the net, and download the software. that should fix it. Alot of the disc are bad, I just found out from edge tech. guy. hope this works.
Also you must have all firewalls off when you try and download, so if you have nortan, and firewals turn off for 15 min. good luck.

 

I just got off the phone with Edge, seems v06 is the latest version, and they have made updates to it since 7/16/06, so you might want to update even if you have v06 currently. I was also told that some of the 97-03 truck can't adjust for tire size due to the PCM not controlling the tire size parameter. I asked what year was the cutoff, he said all model years have this issue that some control tire size with the PCM some don't. I'm calling BS, there is no way Ford would use a different set up randomly on such a mass produced vehicle. If anyone knows what the real answer is, please let me know.

 

I have had my Edge installed for 9 months now (Level 3) and have never updated it. I am not even sure what version it has.

Is there a way to check what version it has directly from the unit while installed in my truck?

I have not had any problems yet, knock on wood.

 

yeah go to the menu and then I don't remember where from there but you can find version info, I think settings not sure though, mine runs so I go by the "if it ain't broke don't fix it mentality.
