Oh, it happened again
Oh, it happened again
Well here is how it all started. I ordered a xcal from Mike Troyer at the end of February with the three tunes 87 tow 87 performance and 93 performance. I received the unit within a couple of days to read my strategy and quickly called Crystal with my code. During my wait time I called a couple of time and spoke with Crystal about a couple of things and she had quick answers for what ever questions I had. Well I received my tunes via email and quickly went to work on reading all the information that came along with it. Directions were very clear on what I needed to do and what not to do. After a little reading I installed my tunes on the xcal, I was impressed with just how easy it was to load the tunes on the xcal. The next morning I waited for the wife to go to work and then I was out there in my truck. I sat in my truck and read over the directions one last time to make sure I was doing everything correctly. After removing the fuel pump fuse I plugged the unit into my truck and loaded the 87 performance program because I had about a half a tank left on the 87. It was so easy to work with the xcal I'm glad I went with it (and Troyer ). Well I started the truck and told the kids to hold on, right off the start I could tell that it was a different running truck. After three days on waiting for fuel light to come on it finally came on, never have I been so happy to go to the gas station. I filled up with the 93 octane and plugged the xcal in and change to the 93 performance tune. All I can say is that when they say Mike knows his stuff and can tune these trucks, they are right. My truck runs so much better then it did before, I am not sure what to call it but the truck seems to run smoother than it ever has. Performance is great, I don't run my truck hard but I know what it could do before and what it can do now. What a difference. I am on my second tank of 93 octane gas and am loving it. With my truck being older I was worried that I would not see that good of a result but boy was I wrong. My buddy has a new Dodge Ram with a Superchip programmer and I will say with my stock tunes we would walk away from me, now I have him covered. I am not saying that Mikes tunes are for running your truck into the ground with racing them. Mikes tunes completely changed how my truck runs and I love it. For anyone that has a older truck like mine look into calling Mike and do yourself a favor and order his tunes. I just thought I would tell everyone that it happened again , another happy customer with no problems.
To be completly honest...
I had a SuperChips canned tune before.... I think it was 1714 or somthing.. but anyways, I was hesitant about buying an Xcal2 with his tunes...
Well I had a vacation planned to go somwhere near his shop at the same time one of his dyno days was in progress. I scheduled a time and bought an XCAL2 with a dyno tune.. Amazing. I opted for a 93 tow tune, a 93 performance tune, and a 93 drag race tune....
I drove home on the performance tune. Loved it. Went to the track the next weekend and switched to the drag tune.. it's been on the drag race tune for the past 1.5 years now.
To be completly honest I was thinking that everyone liked troyer tunes because it was the first tuned vehicle they ever had.... now I'm on the "band wagon". He knows his stuff. His tunes show that.
Mike, when/if you read this, I'll be calling you soon for another tune. This time for my new blower! I'e heard your new dyno is "stingy", but that's ok... As long as its safe.. Im fine with that. #'s mean nothing.. Drag strip times are what matters to me. Im excited.
