When is the right time to install one????
When is the right time to install one????
I ordered an 07 SCREW and the dealership does installs of sct and bully dog and even have a dyno machine. But is this something i should do right away or should i give the engine a little break in time? What is passed practice with everyone here?
Hi CHARB673,
What we recommend is to get just a few hundred miles on the engine - and that is simply to make sure that there are no obvious problems with your new vehicle (and there almost always aren't' any issues).
You can actually do the tuning right away, as soon as it rolls off the delivery truck, but we do like to see a coupla-few hundred miles on the vehicle, just enough so that the vehicle owner knows that the vehicle is operating properly to begin with - and then you can go ahead and make any types of modifications you want to make right away.
There is no break-in time on today's engines in these vehicles anymore, that is basically a thing of the past - so just give it a few hundred miles and you;re ready to modify!
One last tip - and forgive me if this sounds like a sales pitch - just in case you may not be aware of this, we have specialized in F-150 tuning for longer than anyone else in the world, 15+ years, and are very well known for getting the best results - not just in terms of power & performance, but also in terms of overall driveability, part-throttle torque for those who are towing, etc. This is what we specialize in, nobody else truly specializes in these trucks - we have custom tuned more F-150's than anyone else in the world, and in fact, we are called in to help many other tuners, OEM's, chipmakers, and all kinds of other performance parts manufacturers for assistance due to our expertise with this platform. So when you go to order your tuning, you might want to think about trying our Troyer Performance custom tuning - we use the SCT products hardware to deliver our custom tuning, and we provide you with a set of 3 different custom tunes, set up for each individual vehicle owners' preferences & needs, so that you get maximum flexibility, and the tuning you really want & need for how you operate your vehicle, your driving conditions, etc. Just FYI.
Thanks for your post & best of luck with your beautiful new 2007 F-150!
