I don't think the edge can get any better!

Ok, so I got my edge and may I start by saying HOLY ****! It's like driving a totally different truck. I absolutely love it. Its the best value for the money hands down. Right now Im running the tow level on 87 octane and the extra power and acceleration is mind boggling! I bought the edge for a few rasons. Power, better gas mileage was my #1 looks, and that kick ass monitoring system! This is the real kicker, I don't know if this is average or not but my gas mileage went from 9-10 mpg if I was lucky, to a whopping 14 mpg! Thats a 5 mpg gain. It'll literally pay for itself in a month! Im monotoring the mpg average on the attitude monitor as I drive and its telling me 14.0 mpg...does anyone know how accurate this is? I can't wait till I need gas agian so I can figure out my mileage the old fashioned way! ( I can't believe i just said I can't wait untill I need gas!):rocker:

I know how you feel...

I love my Edge..

I do think it could be made better. I wish I could have a Troyer style custom tune added. Additionally, I wish it offered more default tunes...

example:

1.) Transmission Tune
2.) Towing 87 oct
3.) Towing 93 oct
4.) Performance 87 oct
5.) Performance 91 oct
6.) Performance 93 oct
7.) Custom Tune
8.) My Default Tune

curious 5mpg-are you comparing the mpg of stock pcm to edge reading or miles to the tank divided by gallons of fill-up stock versus the same with edge?

The 9-10 mpg was stock (miles driven divided by gallons) and the 14 mpg is the reading that the edge gives me

Yea, youre right there. I'd also like a performance tune for the diffent octane levels and such but over all I still love the tuner!

If Edge was smart...

They would offer you a software upgrade that ,offers that level feature set.

I am under the impression that the unit still has alot of "room" for expansion,, (I think it was from ASEMechanic that said something like that..??)

I think it would be great to have what I have now, and be able to upgrade it further for like 150.00.

IMO...

Probably closer to 12-13 than a true 14 mpg per tank. The AMPG is for the current driving experience, not the average for the tank.

I can play with coasting and being light on the throttle and get mine up to 15 around town. But one good blast away from a red light and bye bye on fuel mileage.

And it will vary between truck and driving style. Some get better; some worse.

But overall, I like the EDGE for what it does at a decent price. I also like the guage package. That alone saved me some money, as I always add guages to my vehicles.

Glad you like yours. Have fun.

The AMPG on my EDGE is accurate within 1/10th of a MPG with my manual calculations when I fill up.

flareside4life Mar 18, 2007 04:41 PM

AMPG is for the entire tank, until you hit enter and reset it, or unplug it, so it is a decent calculator of mileage.

IMPG is the current driving conditions

It would be nice if Edge added Miles til empty and possibly a fuel tank reading. I'm not sure if the fuel tank reading is possible.

I drive around 85miles just to and from work. I get around 16.3 AMPG sometimes even 17 if I drive down the freeway and 14.0 - 15.7 when I take the city roads. I do love the EDGE I love to burnout.

just ordered mine and can't wait for it to come, I haven't been this excited for ups in a long time! :rocker:

05lifted50 Mar 19, 2007 06:52 PM

Thats exactly what I was like, I saw the ups man driving a few miles away from my house so I turned around and waited for him (because I knew it had to be signed for) Its well worth the wait. Where did you end up buying your from?

BSL Mar 19, 2007 07:52 PM

I went with autoanything.com and used the coupon code thats on here, that was the best buy I could find how did the mileage thing turn out? :beers:
