2007 & Edge

Is anyone using an Edge Evolution on a 2007 F150 5.4
I have been told they work and have been told they won't. This is one reply I got .
"Sorry the Edge Evolution for the 06 F-150 06 had to be built before September of 06, They tell me in May it will be available for the 07 built after September 06"

Please let me know if you are using one and how it works. I hear alot of it should be OK but would love to hear from someone using it.
Thanks
Bob

Well, I hope it works.. The edgeproducts.com site says it does.. I just ordered one for my '07, so I may get a really nice big brick when I try to program..

I have an edge on my '07 that I purchased in Nov. of 2007. I am not sure when it was built though. My edge works fine, but I do have to clear the check engine light every time I start the truck.... it comes up with a PCM program error. I called Edge and they said it was nothing to worry about and it was due to the fact it was rewritten by the new Edge program. The computer knows there was a new program stored. They said in May, there should be a fix for it, but performance wise there is no problem and the truck will run fine. It is is more of an annoyance than anything.

You have to clear a check engine light every time you start huh.. Yeah, that means I'll be sending mine back as soon as I see that light.. I can't believe they feel as thought that is "ok" in their book..

I agree, but I really like the programming and the difference it makes in performance. If it continues after their next update, which is in May, I will have to decide whether or not to keep it.

They say it might work

I got a message from EDGE and this is what it said
"If you have the latest updates on your evolution then it is possible and most likely. The best thing to do is get your pcm code. "

I sent them my codes and am waiting for a reply. I have it sitting on my counter just waiting to see if it stays or goes back.

Thanks
Bob

Which firmware and calibration version are you running. The one that has 2007 support on show unstable. Thanks

I have had mine just over a week now. I am running level 2 and most of the time I get the same error. The only other thing I don't like is under hard accel it shifts hard into second gear, it almost feels like it hit revlimiter right at shift point. Hopefully all will be fixed in the future update. Other than that I love the feel of the truck now.

So, lemme get this straight.

You are running an as-marked Unstable code release and it keeps setting a CEL on most starts.

It shifts abruptly.

And you are still using it?

Are you serious?

Did you even bother to extract the error code? ( If so, post it).

Go back to stock & wait for a final prod release before you pecker your truck. Read the fine print - it's your a$$ if you pecker it.

I'm sure Edge appreciates you donating your truck at your expense for their extended Beta R&D program . LOL!

Jeez ... another Darwin Award candidate. LOL!

I went thru the same problems when I had an edge, waited for over a month to get an update so it would work on my 07' then when I finally got one, it kept throwing codes P-605 IIRC, so I sold it and bought an x-cal II from troyer. As far as the waiting till may to fix the code problem, it sounds like either incompetence or sheer laziness on their engineers part. They should just go back to flipping burgers at the local McNasty's and leave the programming to someone who knows what the hell they are doing.https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=271777

How long have you had your x-call II. Do you like it better than your Edge when you had it on your 2005. Trying to decide what to do.

P0605 PCM Processor Rom Error

I have driven it a total of 100 mile and have returned it to stock while waiting for upgrade or decide to send it back. I still love the way the truck feels and like the gauges. Thanks for all the other nice feedback.

I just ordered an edge from autoanything for my 2007. I also wrote tech support at edgeproducts and asked when they are going to come out with a program for 2007 models. I think everyone who wants one for there 2007 should write them. If they get enough response they will step up and fix it for 2007. If they get little response, there is no reason for them to spend the R&D to fix it. This is what I wrote:

Hello. I am very interested in buying an edge evolution for my truck. Trouble is that it apparently isn't ready for the 2007 F-150 5.4 engine. Is there going to be an update soon for this vehicle? On the truck web sites the problem seems to be a ROM issue in the computer, but otherwise seems to work fine. I really don't want to have to reset the warning light every time I start the truck. Thanks for your response and hopefully there will be a solution very soon so I can purchase your product.
