Are you using a USB hub for the cable? If so try a direct connection to the computer.

I am using windows Vista, and i used the cable both through the hub and direct. It worked when i first installed it, but their updates screwed it up. No point in calling them as i am very concerned and disapointed in their lack of knowledgable help online.

Thanks for the help, but they have already lost me as a customer, as i said above, if im having this much trouble installing their software on my $1000computer, god knows what there programmer will do to my $50000 truck.

I searched all over their website for anything that could possibly help me figure out what the problem might be, without finding any information regarding installing or trouble shooting problems.

I have very little faith in the Edge if their software does not even work on my $1000 computer. I would hate to know what their programmer will do to my $50000 truck.

Considering they have a website, and they sell their products on the net, you would think they would make sure they offer some trouble shooting tips somewhere.

not to be an ***, but it sounds like you didn't follow the directions carefully. I have updated mine a couple times and it worked very well for me. I am running the unstable 27 program and it is working great.

You are comparing Apples and Oranges. Vista is a new operating system and a lot of retailers have not caught up yet with driver support.
The first time I loaded the new firmware it errored out, 2nd and subsequent times it loaded just fine.

It's working on my $500 computer and $40 k truck.

Take care
G

Exactly my point, Vista has been out for how many months, and they havent even bothered to make mention of it on their website, anywhere. The only place i can find any relevent info is here, and i would expect more from them. If im going to get a product that uses these forums for support and trouble shooting, i may as well deal with Troyer, as at least i know he hangs out here.

Considering they just pushed through a $100 price increase I would expect their product to be better than it is now. Like i said, their own software does not work after installing their own updates.

I will wait and see which other programmer i will buy, but i guarantee it will have better web support than what Edge has.

Just bought an edge today from a member on the boards, should be shipping out tomorrow. My truck is an 07 XLT (unsure of the build date) I have read through the majority of this thread, but the question still reamains... With this new update now work with ALL 2007 f150's?

Only Edge will know that for sure. They are the ones that wrote it. Call 'em?

And - only until the next new Hex release, which is perpetually ongoing in these trucks it seems.

Does every new hex release by Ford mean a change in programing?

Are there any other 07 owners with the 5.4 that can't get the EOT (engin oil temp) to work on the display? It worked fine on my 06' with the 5.4. And from what I found searching, it seems like this only happens on the 4.6 trucks b/c they don't have a factory sensor.

Call EDGE. The blank screen with 2007 models seems to be a VERY common problem right now. My neighbor had to send her brand new Evolution to EDGE because of the black screen. Worked fine for the first couple hours... then nothing... back-light with no info displayed. On top of that her truck was stuck on level 1 and the CEL was lit.

EDGE had the Evolution back to her within a week and her stock program was still intact. Good service, but she's now running stock as any other level keeps causing a CEL.

I wouldn't touch an EDGE with an '07 model right now.

I just programmed my Edge for the first time last night on the 2007 that was built within the last couple months. Since I got the truck I have only been using it as a guage pod, I wanted to wait till Edge figured it out for the 2007's. Since a few of you have been running it for awhile now without problems, last night I updated it to the ver 22 cal 27. Plugged it in, and programmed it to a custom level 2. Worked flawlessly and the truck is how it should be. Took it for a drive, and man is that thing fast. I swear it has more power than the 2005 FX4 I was running the same one on. So far good to go. Its nice having my speedo back on for the larger tires, which is also bringing my MPG up a tad too.

Edit: Fyi, no problems with screen, no CEL's, truck runs perfect.
