What R&D?

They already have access to the strategies, just like the custom tuners do.

But, unlike the custom tuners, there appears to be a lack of WILL.

Crap - it's not like the damn 07's are that new anymore. But you'll find if you search, that even some 04/05 strategies have not been supported yet, which is, frankly BS and unacceptable.

Good luck. What was their response? Whatever it was/will be, it's an excuse, not a reason at this point...

Meanwhile, Like I indicated previously in this thread, do yourself & your truck a favour - return to STOCK before you pecker your truck. The extra 10 hp isn't worth risking the vehicle.... LOL!

 

I got a response from edge... I will give them the benifit of a doubt and hope they come thru... here is there reply:


Chris, We are now working on that ROM issue that you spoke of; although it will not affect any truck it does through a check engine light. I don’t have a solid date on when this issue will be repaired but we are getting closer. When it is repaired there will be an update on our website for that

I would still advise against runniing it until it's resolved, but that's just me.

I'd be concerned just because of the CEL light 'masking' another problem that in fact is a real problem. In other words, if the light pops on and you (incorrectly) assume it's just the Rom issue, when in fact it's something else . Always read codes.

I understand what you are saying. I am going conservitive until the update to fix the problem with the 07 trucks. I am not going to blow up my baby! Just want the tow tune so the shifts are firmer.... I HATE auto trannies. And firmer shifts make it last longer... soo.. I will see how it goes. I am aware of symtoms to watch for. I won't wreck my truck.

 

I just talked with an Edge rep and he assured me the P0600 and P0605 code correction will be availble no later than next Wed.4/4/07
They have found the solution and are in the programing stage.
I added my name to a callback list that he had and they will call me(HAHA) when it is ready for download.

 

have any 07 owners taken thier trucks for the emissions recall?? my edge wont program any longer after i took mine in. i have let edge know but have gotten no responce.

 

Hopefully, you returned your truck to stock first.

You now likely have a strategy that is as yet unsupported - read that strategy code & contact Edge, asking if/when the new code will be supported.

yeah i flashed the stock program back before i took it in. i will contact edge tomorrow and post up what they say.

 

My edge arrived today... I am nervous about putting it on... If I leave it stock... and just use the screen for data, would that throw a code? I don't think it would. But then I could just wait until they have updates. I have done the emision recall recalibration too... hopefully that is in the works for a fix.

 

i still have mine in my truck and am just using it for the gauges with no problem. it wont hurt to update it and give it a try, all it will do it act like its programing then get to the end and tell you your vechicle is not supported.

 

anyone have trouble downloading the lightning software from edge? It won't let me download it. I am ready to send the POS back and get a different tuner. There web sight really sucks and is hard to find things. grrrrrrr....

 

It took me a while to find where to d/l it also. Then after I did the server was down or some crap for about 2 days. I to am pretty fed up with the whole thing. If this new release still wont work on my truck its bye bye edge and hello livewire.

 

Well I called edge and I didnt get much of a answer. They just said it could be 1 week or could be a month. Well it looks like ima give Troyer a call. Anyone want a edge?? Its less than a month old, make me a offer

 

Ok... I installed the edge today in my 2007 FFV equiped truck. The display is awesum and looks really good in the truck. The features of seletable displayed info is great. I tryed to program the transmision only program, and it says that my calibration is not supported at this time. Then the engine fail safe message comes up on the message center (lariat). So I turn off the key, turn the key back on... and all is normal. Stock tune and parameters I have selected for the display. Aparantly the FFV tune is different enough that the tunes don't even take. I hope they work on the FFV tune too!! Or I got a neat display only. I still can't install the lightning software.. I get a error message that says:

Error 1401. Could not create key. HKEY_USERS\5-1-21-117723895-343818398-72534553-1004\software\classes verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personel.


That sounds like my computer problem doesn't it? Any computer experts here to help???

 

Im 99.99% sure that out of the box it will not work for a 07. You need the newest update they have. The engine one is 22 i believe and the tranny one is like 24 if my memory is correct. Whatever they are they will say unstable behind them and will throw code 605 on your truck. I have a 07 and its ffv this is how i know this. Also if you have had yours taken in for the recal it wont work at all like mine. I called edge today and got a answer of this "we are working with a dealer to get a truck now...hopefully it has your type of program on it...it could take a week it could take a month." Well since i have had my edge for about a month and it has only been more than a set of gauges for about 2-3 weeks im not willing to wait any longer. I bought a livewire and am gettin rid of my edge.
