Edge problem

Edge problem

I got big problems my Edge went one the blink made the truck start clicking and now it won't run worth a damn gave me an error code of P2106 THROTTLE ACTIVATOR CONTROL SYSTEM-FORCED LIMITED POWER what does that mean any and all help will be appreciated

Search for P2106 in the 2004+ forum. A few people have had this error code pop up in there. It'll explain what to try.

Edge is crap, after being on the phone with them for an hour reprogramming that POS now my truck wont ever start THATS WHY BLAME EDGE

Sheez, man. Edge doesn't make a TPS go bad, Ford does.

I had the same code come up on mine, along with 5 others. it was pretty much my fault though. i left it in storage for a few months without returning it to stock and the battery died. when i went to return it to stock, the truck had lost part of its e-prom memory and thought it was a 2wd w/3.55's, no cruise and 17" wheels. when its actually a 4x4, 3.73's, cruise and 20's.

to make a long story short it had to be reprogrammed. but i still havent put my edge back in yet, im a little apprehensive of it.

Go to the dealer and get your TPS replaced. That was a common problen on the 04 F150. Here is Ford's TSB on it. Hope this helps out

ISSUE:
Some vehicles built 11/29/2004 and prior may exhibit the wrench light on with both P2106 and P2135 diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

ACTION:
Replace the throttle position sensor (TPS) following the instruction sheet included in the TPS service kit. Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using WDS release B36.11 and higher, or B37.2 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the B37 CD. Calibration files are also available at www.motorcraft.com.

CAUTION: FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE TPS REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURE WILL RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE TPS SCREWS.
