hypertech or edge programmer?
I have an '04 f-150 lariat 4wd. I had a hypertech on my last truck but it wasn't AMAZING... i've seen a lifted fx4 with 35's and an edge smoke a tuned up 2wd chevy. i want one but i've heard that the edge will mess your engine up. is there any truth to this?

i have a hypertech 3 on my 2001 5.4 and I am gonna get a dyno tune using a diablo tuner the hypertech isn't that good but it is a decent entry level tuner that is idiot proof, kinda like the powerdyne supercharger.
take it from someone who has had both, the EDGE will do you alot more good than bad. I liked my hypertech but the power gains in these "pigs" as a previous poster put it wasn't at all noticable by the SOP method. Now that I have an edge, all I can say is if you ride with me HOLD ON

Another vote for the Edge. A Vast majority (probably 95+%) of the problems come from USER ERROR. If you read your manual and call Edge if you think/know something isn't right - instead of trying to fix it yourself - they can get you hooked back up and running in a few minutes. I've unplugged my Edge during all possible scenarios and have never had a lick of problems.
