4x4 problems w/ Edge?

As you know, I have an '06 XLT 4x4. I installed the edge yesterday w/ no problems. But today, I had the truck in 4-low, to pull my dad's old '72 Blazer up a hill, and the little wrench popped up on the dash. When I got done jerking that old chevy around the yard, I put her back in 2wd. The light stayed on. So I returned the truck back to its stock tune, and the wrench went away. I reprogrammed it back to level 2. The wrench didn't come back. I just got it yesterday, so I haven't done any updates. Any thoughts? Do I need to update? I thought level 2 was for towing, so this doesn't make sense. Any help is appreciated.

I have used 4 Lo and 4 Hi with my EDGE Evo on level 2 with no problems in my 06 SCREW. The wrench means there was an electronic throttle control malfunction. Either the PCM didn't see the throttle respond to a command correctly or the throttle position sensor didn't sense the throttle position correctly. I updated my EDGE a week or so ago and it might not hurt to update yours.

Talking

I just got back from Mexico, I mean Wal-mart, and I thought I would be slick and fill up with 93 octane, while I was there. After I fill up, I go park off to myself and I switch to level 3! When I went to add the custom options from level 2 it said I couldn't do it, because of it not being set up for it, or something. So I tried going back to my custom level 2 settings, and it gave the same message. I had to drive home on the factory setting. When I got home I immediately updated it. All went well with that, so I went to level 3 and added the same custom tune as level 2. I took her for her maiden steroid voyage, and WOW! I layed down the rubber like never before! That bitch flew! I LOVE MY EDGE! What a great device! I just hope I get back to level 2 soon, or I'm certain I'll have higher insurance, or a trip to the dealership! It is truly amazing that this little device can do so much. Technology rocks!

The reason the light went away is because when you reflashed your PCM...you basically wiped out all existing trouble codes. Also...next time the wrench comes on, use your edge to see what the trouble code is.

What custom settings are you using? I've got a tank of 93 oct in it and have been tinkering with custom settings. So far, Level 2 with 1 deg timing advance and 1.50 WOT fuel is quicker, more torque, faster responce, better on city and highway then Level 3 is. Mine won't lay a track of rubber in Level 3 but I can with Level 2.

Level 2 provides a lot more low end torque, but fades at higher rpms, above about 3500. Level 3 has less low end but keeps producing up to the shift point. I use level 2 for daily driving and commuting and level 3 for the highway when i need acceleration at higher rpms.
