running level 3 on edge
just wondering.. is it bad or .. can u guys give me some info on level 3
i have had the edge for about a week now.. and absolutely love it.. i have yet to even try out level 3.. as i have been on level 2 and pretty impressed..
but if when i fill up next time.. and put in 93 octane.. and run level 3 on that entire tank.. would it be bad.. or is it ment for only certain times.. like racing.. or whatever.. bc i normally drive pretty gas savy.. but sometimes.. i liek to feel the power.. or find a excursion (my buddy) and he wants to race me.. etc...
whats the details on running level 3 basically..
thanks

Level 2 gives you a little more low end grunt (at least it feels like it to me) and you could always run 93 octane gas on level 2 and bump up your timing. Just remember, level 1 and 2 are designed for 87 octane and level 3 requires 91. You can run whatever you want on any level you want, you just have to adjust your timing.......+1 degree for every 2 points in octane. E.G. level 3 with 87 octane you would pull out 2 degrees, or level 2 wih 93 octane add 3 degrees. You can tweak it from there, just go in .25 degree increments afterwards. On my old 05' I used to run level 3 with plus 1.25 timing on 93 octane gas, but if I tried to run 1.5 it started to ping slightly.
I have been "edged" for about a month now. I couldn't tell you what level 2 does b/c I went straight to level 3. This is the second tank of gas that I have done through. The first, I was basically gunning it constantly (just because it was damn fun). The second, I backed off considerably and have actually seen and INCREASE in MPG from stock. I was running about 12.5 MPG at stock and on this second tank am running about 13.1 MPG and I am 3/4 empty. My driving patterns have not changed from normal. I can drive "gas savvy" on the next tank to tell you what results I get (my guess...14). I would suggest getting the higher octane (good for you, it's less expensive now) and race your excursion buddy just b/c you can!!
