Resetting KAM?

I tried using the search function but could not find a thread where this is covered. Will resetting KAM delete my Hypertech tune from the computer? Should I just return it to stock setting before doing it? Thanks guys

What process do you currently use - On the 98 model from the fuse block under the dash, center row 2nd from the bottom - pull that little 5 amper to for the quickest kam reset.

Which method do you use when reseting your KAM on the 98 - 3 ways

You can tie a 9 volt battery to the cig lighter if your swappen the battery out to keep KAM setting , if that's your worry.

Pull your dome light bulb first - not enough power for that 2.

I was thinking about resetting it because of the mods and repairs I have done. I have never done it before. Pulling the fuse sounds a lot safer than touching the negative cable to the positive batterey post. Thanks jbrew.

It's a good thing to do after working on anything motor related - Touching the Neg to the Positive is completely safe - lol you wouldn't think so , it is tho, it's an easy way to reboot your comp when under the hood.

You can reset the 98 buy pulling the MAXI fuse in the Power Distibution Box under the hood as well (that's the first row of fuses towards the front of the truck furthest from the fender #20 or 21 - it's a 20 amp Orange.)

You can still just unhook the battery for 15 minutes too..
