Xcal 2

I was looking at purchasing one of these units and like the results that yall are getting. My question is have any of you guys used a towing tune and how does that work for you. My other question is if i decide to get another truck will i be able to reflash it for the new truck.

A lot of people use the tow tune for towing and just leave it for daily driving. Some one posted that he likes the tow better thatn the perf. It is my understanding that you can use it one a new truck, but you will have to purchase new tunes for the new comp. code in the new truck.

Hi mx52,

A lot of our customers leave it on their towing tune all the time, as they tow frequently and they just don't want to flash back and forth between a performance tune and a towing tune often.

You can use our towing tunes all the time - they have a little bit less straight-line acceleration (and here I mean like in 1/4 mile times) compared to our performance tunes, but they still have the same amount of engine power when we're talking about the 2004 & up 5.4 3V engines, for example - and the difference in the older trucks is minimal. You still get all the driveability benefits, much better transmission shifting, better overall response compared to stock, etc.

If you take the time to read some of the posts here, you can read plenty of info directly form our customers using their towing tunes - you can also use the SEARCH feature here to simply look up posts on that topic, if you like.

I hope that info helps,
