EDGE VS XCAL 2 (PRO's & Con's?)

Ive had my XCAL 2 for a while now... Been driving on it for about 40000KM... Ive been please so far... My friend just got an EDGE Tuner and im impressed really... The 0-60 gauges and other stuff is really neat...

Here's my ???

Forgetting about how it looks in the cabin and how you can play around with everything... Just curious.. What is the difference in performance? Is the SCT better or is the EDGE? Cause im seriously thinking of switching! The edge is much more practical to me but im looking for performance.

Any help Appreciated! Keep in Mind i am going to keep the SCT since im already used to it...

My current mods are. JBA Headers, Custom Exhaust, Volant intake, 3.73 Gearing and BBK Custom Pullies (Which im thinking about removing)

Which would give me better performance? EDGE OR SCT 2?

Thanks Guys...

I'm just going to say this: It is really an subjective question because you will notice basically anyone with the EDGe will say their programmer is better, and anyone with the xcal2 will say theirs is the best. In the end, it probably (heck, im sure it does) vary truck by truck...and it really comes down to what you like most.

EDGE pro- Sweet pod, adjustability on the fly, neat gadgets
Cons? You are in charge of your own destiny with custom settings, can be dangerous

Xcal2 pros- tuned by the best. Also can be updated with dyno tunes.
cons? no neato toys.

Do a search and you will find what I just said written about 500 different ways...but in the end, it is what it is.

With those mods I would stay with the Xcal II. You can get the Edge and use it for the gages (don't load it....just plug it in and monitor the Xcal tunes).

If you have an xcal2 can you really plug in the edge just for the gauges, with no compattability issues or anything.?? If so will it work with other tuners?

Sure, if you want the most performance or want an aftermarket intke, that is the way to go. There is no doubt that the Xcal2 will give you a little better performance, but the Edge gives me all I really need and I love the gauges. If i were concerned with optimum performance, I would get the Xcal2 and run it with my Edge.

so I can buy the xcal2 and the Edge at the same time, use the edge while I wait on the troyer tunes, when I get the tunes use them in the pcm, along with the edge tuner ONLY TO RUN THE GAUGES without probs?

Don't see why not. The very worst senario that I can see would be that you have to load you Xcal2 tune first, then let it be your "stock" tune for the Edge. But, I think you can load in the Xcal2, then hook up the Edge and set it to the gauges you want to monitor and take off.

That'd be sweet!!

There are some people here running both. For your mods Xcal is the way to go. My Edge works great for what I bought it for. I have my kids and wife with me most of the time and the Edge gives me great get up and go acceleration and a great passing gear which it didnt have stock. Xcal brings it up another level which is great if thats what you want/need.

The EDGE is like buying a ScanGauge and getting a tuner for free.
