Tuner Question

How does a 2005 F150 with the XCAL 2 and Troyer tunes compare with the Ram Hemi or Titan on acceleartion? I am seriously considering the group buy just for the better tranny shifting and throttle lag improvement. But it sure would be great if the beast truned into a real demon

You’ll hold your own, no problem, especially with the stock tire size

Thanks for the response. I don't want to race other trucks - I just want to enjoy mine more. I pass Troyer's twice a day and stopped by once but have never had the nerve to take the plunge. I'm still on the fence about a tuner but leaning more toward it because of the group buy. But - you can be sure of this - If I get a tuner it will be from Mike with his custom tunes.

It would be really bad for me to drive by Troyers place everyday.

You have some kind of will power!

Roger that !

I'd never get where I originally intended to be, and I'd be in the doghouse in very short order....

Cheers

Hi Kenny,

You cruise by here regularly and haven't stopped in? Isn't that illegal or something?1?!?!

All kidding aside, the Hemi's are usually dead meat with our tuning - now the Hemi does have a nice cylinder head that flows a *bunch* of air when the rpms are up high, but ONLY if you put a really nice aftermarket camshaft in the Hemi, as below .500 lift they just don't flow that much - above that amount, they flow a ton.

There are plenty of threads posted here with Titan & Hemi kills with 5.4 3V F-150's using our tuning.

Get in on the Group Buy, you'll kick yourself if you don't - of course, I'm really laying the guilt on your here and teasing with you a bit just because you're so close, so don't worry about it. If you really want it, it will happen, so just be comfortable with whatever you do, and we'll be happy to help if you like.

Thanks for your post,

Well I couldn't stand it any longer - Stopped by Troyer's and spoke with Mike about the XCAL 2. The long and short of it is that my wallet will be lighter but my truck will be quicker.

Thanks to Mike, Crystal and Anita for all of your help today - it is really appreciated !
