In my honest opinion, the safest bet is to get a programmer that is custom for your truck. By going this route, you ensure that you're kept within the parameters that are safe as well as making sure that you get the maximum bang for your buck -- aka: most performance.

Troyer Performance is the only option I'd consider in your shoes.

do they have anything like the edge programmer where it is always is plugged in and it sits on the dash so you can adjust it as you drive??

They sell the Edge if that's the route you'd like to go...

There's no doubt that the 'gee-wiz' factor is higher with the Edge but, there's also no doubt that you'd manage better performance out of a custom tune versus a canned tune.

I'd suggest that you give Troyer Performance a call and discuss your thoughts with them. They'll shoot you straight and can sell either of the two products that you're checking in to -- also, be sure to mention that you're a f150online.com member and you'll get the forum discount.

I would say either one is a great option over the stock tune. Both tunes are going to increase your tranny life, but the Troyer Tune will give you more horsepower. The edge will give you all the fancy gauges. I am leaning towards the edge for that reason only!
