Programmer/Chip for Towing?

I have a '05 F150 base w/4.6 and Auto. & 3.55 rear end, 2 wheel drive.

I am looking for a programmer or switchable chip that I can use a separate program for towing for more power hardershifts then go back to stock tune for fuel mileage etc.

What do you guys recommend, I am a newborn when it comes to trucks.

Thanks in advance.
Keith

I have the Xcal2 tuned by Mike Troyer, towing is great with the Xcal2 BTW I tow 18'6 Sea Ray cuddy cabin, as for MPG's you get 3 tunes with the Xcal2, I run a 93 oct tune and I get 18-20 MPG hwy.

Definitely look into the TP custom tuned XCal2. It’s the way to go IMO

Troyer

I also got the Xcal2 from Troyer Performance. Huge diff in power. I had (just traded in for an '06 w/ 5.4) a 4X4 STX w/ the 4.6 and towed a 6000lb camper. Although it was difficult, even w/ the performance tune, I think it would have been impossible without! Make sure you tell them you're a member of F150online for a discount. I need to contact them for a tune for my new '06 FX4... Good luck!

Hi Keith,

We can easily take care of that for you.

We have specialized in tuning these vehicles for many years, and we provide a set of 3 different custom tunes set up for whatever level of octane and whatever type of vehicle use that each individual vehicle owner requires - that is easily done.

It is in a hand-held tuner that is extremely advanced, allows for complete diagnostics, high-speed datalogging, Internet update capabilities, email update capabilities, and many other features.

We also provide this at a discount to registered members of F-150 Online, of course, as another poster mentioned.

This is what will get you the best tuning that delivers the highest safe & sustainable power & performance gains, as well as the best towing capability, best driveability, transmission shift characteristics, etc.

I hope this brief info helps, & please feel free to call us at our number listed below & we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks for your post, & hope to hear from you!

Im just curious. Since, I was debating getting the Xcal 2 when I get my truck lifted on 37s, is there anything different you would do with the tunes since the increase of tire size?

Thanks.
