Mpg
I've never checked my MPG and when I finally get my XCAL2 from Mike, I don't plan on checking it (Unless it's necessary).
#1 - It's a Supercrew with a 5.4l, NOT a Honda Civic
#2 - It's a Performance mod, NOT a fuel saving mod (for me...)
Just my $ .02

My milage has not suffered at all since getting the Xcal2 from MT.
In fact, it's probably improved a little bit if anything and of course, I have way more performance.
If your truck is running more efficiently (as it should with custom tuning) it will be producing more power and therefore you shouldn't need to press the gas pedal as hard as before.
Under those circumstances, you should have the same or greater milage than before.
If however you make good use of your new found power, you are probably getting on the power a bit more often and that's probably where your milage suffers.

Now, if you came on and said two f150 engines blew up because people were monkeying with their edge settings and had no clue what they were doing, that would be accurate.
IF i cared about how much timing was pulled out a WOT, i would look at my edge dsiplay, i know it has VCT and i "think" it has total timing as well. Not sure though....
Btw, my name is Phil too
Red Wing, Sorry to hijack
I know Mike makes a fuel mileage tune. Give him a call, he should be able to help you out.

i retract my statement- i SHOULD have worded it as you say-in my opinion-i feel the edge wasn't ready for release to the public-way too many issues- i still firmly believe unless you know what you are doing to air fuel numbers-it's best to leave edge stock settings-i can say i can make my 2 stroke rac`e bikes make bookoo power but at such a lean ration even on race fuel-engine longevity is shortened-i honestly try to be helpful in this forumn ,i guess my **** side of seeing so many problems with the edge and the happiness i've had in the past 3years with superchips after a fiasco with a so called great diablo tuner in fla-had something to do with it-hopefully my apologies are accepted-phil
Nice job Phil! ( im not red wing BTW..
) Ive read your posts and know that you offer good advice on your experiences, that's why youre previous post threw me off! I know the xcal2 in your van makes a world of difference. I wonder if the cams are the same in your van vs a truck....
I have the utmost confidence in my Edge and they clearly say if you mess with the settings, youre on your own!
Good luck on the VAN!!
RedWing, keep us up to date on the datalogging and mileage...
