Scanning

If I am going to scan a budys truck, do I have to act as if I am going to program it, such as remove the fuel pump fuse?

That depends on what kind of gear you are using the scan the vehicle - but generally speaking, no, you only have to remove the fuel pump & electric fan fuses (if so equipped) when you are actually going to *flash* the PCM.

Generally speaking, you can plug in an OBD-II and/or CAN-capable scan tool and read codes without any such issues as needing to remove any fuses. Just follow the instructions that came with whatever scan tool you are using.

I hope that helps, & good luck!
