Got Tested
I have recently purchased a X CAL2 and put it on the HIGH PERFORMANCE setting (and it means High Perfomance ) I have a (05) EXT CAB FX4 5.4 3V last night a guy with a brand new 2WD EXT Cab Chevy Silverado (still had the dealers tag on it ) wanted to run so we kicked it at about 50 and I was so far ahead of him :o :o :o that I got in front and started bumping my brake lights at one point I looked down at the speedometer and I was going over 120 M.P.H The only thing I can say is (WOW) this brought this truck to life.

Hello TX-FX-4,
Just a quick FYI to start off with - spend a little time reading these boards, you will find all the info you could possibly want is already here, Using the SEARCH feature is the best & quickest place to start whenever you have a question, as there is basically nothing that can be asked that hasn't been covered many times before.
The real answer is is in the tuning - with the 1714 you get an off-the-shelf tune compared our in-depth individual vehicle owner-specific Troyer Performance custom tuning - and we carry both parts of course, and we are Superchip Inc.'s oldest WD in America.
The 1714 does an OK job for what it is, don't get me wrong - but there is a night & day difference in the performance, driveability, shift characteristics, & so many other aspects of vehicle operations between our tuning any anyone's off-the-shelf tuning, that this is why most people come to us for our custom tuning.
Now in terms of feature differences between the actual hardware, there again it's hands-down no choice - the XCalibrator 2 comes out far ahead with it's full manufacturer-specific enhanced parameter diagnostics, built-in high -speed datalogging, Internet update-able firmware, USB connectivity to your PC, modular design to take later add-on options like a touch screen (that will be released several months from now), and so much more - so in terms of the hardware, hands down the 9400 (XCalibrator 2) is the way to go.
And in terms of the tuning, what will get you the best actual results is our Troyer Performance custom tuning, as we have specialized in performance tuning these F-150's longer than anyone else, and have tuned more of them in every configuration imaginable - it's what we do.
Please do read some posts from customers of ours who have spent their hard-earned money to see how they feel, and please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below if you would like to go over any of this in appropriate detail - the bottom line is, there really is no comparison between the XCalibrator 2 loaded with our Troyer Performance custom tuning and the 1714 - you get much more performance with our tuning. You can get either of these units directly form us at a great price, as we offer special discounts to registered members of F-150 Online line yourself.
I hope that brief info helps, & best of luck whatever you decide!

Thank you mike for your post. I have read for several weeks now many different posts and I will be ordering the XCAL-II. I am between contracts right now but hope to purchase soon. I sent an e-mail to Anita and she responded promptly and asked that I called when ready. Thank you again for the info and the reply.
