Ordered XCal11 from Troyer
Ordered XCal11 from Troyer
Well, I finally did it. I ordered a XCal11 from Mike Troyer today, and the process was great. Mike explained everything and made me comfortable with my decision. I have been lurking in this forum for a while, and thanks to all the members who have posted great questions and comments, I was able to make a very informed purchase. The member discount is a plus.
I wanted to thank Mike publicly because he deserves the credit for all of his great advice.
I will keep you informed when I get it installed and dialed in.
We'll see what a difference the tune makes on top of the Procharger with this "3 ton beast"

Mike's tune will make a big differance, especially if you are going with the 42# injectors and 90mm mass air. the drivability is so improved with that setup. I have had my set up for 2 years now and although I am always tinkering and improving, I am very satisfyed with the improvements that Mike has been able to do to my truck.
PS I just love those chrome lightning wheels on you're truck, They look great!!!

Hi Desparado,
Thanks for your post, I enjoyed talking with you at length.
And that *is* a very sharp looking truck, by the way - some ghost flames might look great, but I think it looks absolutely beautiful just the way it is!
If you can get proper traction once we tune it, you will be amazed at how much stronger it is getting out of the hole, and how much better it pulls throughout the entire rpm range once the PCM is back in control with that FMU off of there. One of my pet peeves with many supercharger manufacturers is them taking the dangerous shortcut in the return-style fuel system vehicles of using an FMU, stock MAF, and no tuning - very dumb, and that has caused many blown engines when the FMU malfunctions, the vacuum line comes off, the stock MAF peaks, etc.
I'm glad that you are taking the right steps with this setup.
Have fun & talk to you soon!
