What will it take?

I have a new 2005 Lariat. Mike, please tell me what mods I will need to make other than getting the XCALII to kick the crap out of a Dodge Hemi? I would tell you the reason I ask this question but I bet you already know!
Thanks for the help!
Ted

The XCal2 is the number one *bang for the buck* mod; you need it

I know!

That is a given, along with an AF1 and a cat back. And I really want the E-fans. That being said, will it beat a stock Hemi? That is the focus!

Jp

I viewed your pics and that is a nice truck my friend! I am thinking about the SIDO magnaflow, and I am really contemplating the Lightning style side exit pipes. Is there any HP gain with SIDO vs SISO?

Here's the skinny on the three you mentioned

Magnaflow Cat-Back * single in single out

Magnaflow Dual Side Exit (SVT Lightning Style)

Magnaflow Cat-Back (Single In/Dual Out)

So there is a small HP gain! Thanks my brother! You know I should have done that research myself! LOL! I really am thinking that it really doesn't make that much differance one way or the other, its all about the SOUND! Riding in one of these babys is just like cruising in a Lincoln, I just may want to roughen it up a little

Hi 05Okie,

What you will need will really depend on your exact configuration on your truck, as well as the configuration on the HEMI truck.

For example, normally with a 2004/2005 5.4 3V F-150 SuperCrew Lariat 4x4, the only thing it takes to beat a STOCK 4WD HEMI is our tuning!

Now if you have a 4.6 F-150, then you're at a 70 HP disadvantage to start with over what the 5.4 3V F-150 makes, so we're going to have to do significantly more to it to get it to whip up on a HEMI, obviously. But it *can* be done!

That's why I say let's talk on this, so we can go over just exactly what you're really going to heed to whip up on the HEMI, OK?

Talk to you soon!!

Give Mike a call like he said, I have not lost to a Hemi yet in my 6300 # 4x4 SCrew....The look on their faces is priceless when you walk them...

Well that is just what I wanted to here! WE WILL talk soon! I appreciate all the input! Just for my own edification, I didn't think you could get a 4.6 in a Lariat in 2005? Damn dealer said "Its not available since this is the KING OF THE ROAD!" It really doesn't matter since I DO have a 5.4 and since moving up to it from my 98 4.6 I can testify, already without a tune....there is no substitute!
I am ready to rock!
Thanks again to all!
Ted

Hi Ted,

Glad to help, and glad to hear you have the 5.4 3V - the 4.6 is a great engine of course, it's just down on power compared to the 5.4 3V.

Talk to you soon!

Go to dragtimes.com, they have time slips and 1/4 mile times for all kinds of cars and trucks. Plus they say what mods they have on them.
