funny i had to call and ask troyer performance that earlier today too!

from what i was told its on the passanger door right where the upper/only hinge is located. it should be a sticker with 3 letters and a number. thats the computer code unless your computer has been reflashed/programmed by a dealer.

Thanks for the quick reply. I shouldn't have any problem finding it now.

Hi Guys,

Exactly - in the 1997-2003 F-150, open the front passenger door, and then look in the door frame, in the general area of the door hinges - there you should find a sticker that has 3 letters followed by 1 number - something like IMP4, TBL2, etc - there are *many* different codes.

Now sometimes on those older vehicles that sticker will, be worn away, and if that is the case, you can find the code on a sticker on the back of the PCM - look inside the cabin, on the passenger side, just above the passenger's kick panel - up in there you will see a rectangular-shaped aluminum box - the way it's mounted in those trucks, it;s about 1.5" wide, and about 6" tall - it's about 9" long. There will be a small black plastic "pressure clip" with a little tab on it - pull that clip straight back, towards the back of the vehicle, and it will slide of. Then once that clip is off, there should usually be another code sticker on the back of the PCM - again, 3 letters and 1 number, it will *always* be in that same format.

Give us a call if you have any problems finding your code!

I had my mom look for me since I am away from home putting in playground equipment as usual, and she gave me these numbers, 7-47D. Does this sound right? I would really like to know if this is correct, or if I have to look for something different. THANKS!!!

I would say no, thats not right. If I remember right, all the comp codes have 3 letters, followed by 1 number (like Mike said)-exactley opposite of what you listed. Plus there are no '-'s in it.

For example, mine is YBQ3

Yep, that's it - NLK2 is usually found in a 1997 4.6 5-spd manual F-150, by the way.
