Question 2 Questions

I installed the program that Mike sent me. I installed the 87 performance side of it. I have two things that have happened since then. I have noticed a carbon build up around my exhaust pipe. It is on the tail pipe and in the muffler. Is this common? The other thing is that if you give it some gas at the take off it shifts hard from second to third almost like a slam. I have 7000 on my truck. Will this smooth out? What is the cause of these two situations?

Other than that I have noticed a BIG improvement in my truck and how it responds. Thank Mike.....

I have to assume when you say"if you give it some gas" that you actually mean if you go to WOT. If so then it will shift at the maximum RPM Mike has written into that program and you will no doubt get a jolt out of it.
The adaptive strategy is still functional and it will learn from your driving habits if that helps any.
As for the carbon build up issue, I have never seen anything other than the black sooty residue in my tail pipes. It was there on my Lightning, my Cobra, my 01 SCrew, and it is there on my 04 SCrew. Tailpipes do not get light gray or whitish as they used to in the old days anymore...Most of that was from leaded fuel...
But if in doubt I would still give him a call....

Read your docs thoroughly and you will find the answer right in there, as we go over that in *specific* detail. Additionally, if you have questions on your tuning, you need to call us for Tech Support rather than post here - as is also pointed out in the very first section of our documentation - you know, right in there where it says "How to Get Tech Support."

There's a reason why we write such carefully detailed documentation -

Have fun & talk to you soon!
