PCM Modifications

I have fitted my 5.4 liter motor to a Cobra replica. I have removed the EGR, power steering and air con. I have fitted a T45 manual trans. I now need to set the engine to work.

I need to have someone modify the EEC-V PCM, specifically to bypass PATS and modify to cover the changes mentioned above. I will also need to take account of the 2.5" exhaust and be able to re-modify it later after the Lightning top end is fitted - later, for that modificaition.

Can anyone point me in the direction to get these mods done please?

Thanks
Pete

Ah... cross-posting, are you? For shame ;-))

I replied to this in the Engines Forum:

Cheers

Hi Pete,

Just give us a call, we can take care of this for you - we do a lot of tuning for 5.4 engine swaps into other vehicles.

Sorry for the cross post.... I am duly shamed by my eagerness to resolve this one....... ;-(
I'll call Mike and have a chat about this issue. It's more complex, as I need to do this in 2 stages, once normally aspirated and secondly with the Lightning fit. Twice as I need to get it legally on the road first, then resolve how I fit that Lightning monster in the Cobra and get the engineering issues of size sorted out. I really can't imagine how all that Lightning torque and horsepower - magnified with the exhaust and intake and chip mods I have - will feel like in a tiny 1100 KG car..... but I can't wait to find out!

Thanks guys
Pete

Hi Pete,

Thanks for calling all the way from "down under" today, I enjoyed chatting with you about this project.

God luck on getting the 2000 model year PCM & harness to match that PI 5.4 motor, & talk to you soon!
