Help
If it was taken at the Dealership. There should be no need for a "Fairy Tale". I would make the Dealer responsible for it( be compensated for a new one) and reflash my computer to stock. But remenber to get new code for future programmer.
what kind of dumb a$$ steals a tuner (guess I just answered my own question)? lol...they're gonna be pissed when they find out it's locked to your truck. Hopefully you can find out who took it. Or the dealer should pay for a replacement.
Hi Screw2004,
As another poster said, just take it in to your local dealership, and have them reflash the PCM - now when you do that, make *certain* that they place the reflash notification sticker under the hood AND that they write in the new calibration code on that sticker, as that information will be required to do new custom tunes for the vehicle.
Pretty stupid for someone to steal a tuner, as nobody with a brain would ever do that - anyone that knows anything about them knows that you can't use it on more than one vehicle, so that tool is now worthless to anyone else. Serves the lousy thief right.
Sorry to hear about the dent in the truck, too - personally, I'd give some serious thought to calling the police and filing a report on the theft of the tuner and the damage to the vehicle.
By the way - I noticed that you intend to supercharge the vehicle - when you get ready to do that, you might want to give us a call, as we have by far the best supercharger kit (and the only one that works right) for the 5.4 3V new body style F-150's. Positive displacement so there's no waiting on boost as with all centrifugals, instant large power gains, as well as a complete replacement 36/36 warranty on the entire powertrain, so the vehicle still retains a bumper-to-bumper warranty - even on 4x4's. A lot of new 2004 & 2005 F-150 owners have us ship the blower kit right to their local Ford dealership to install, and drive away their new vehicle with everything under warranty. A lot of owners don't supercharge only because of warranty considerations, but now that is no longer a problem with our kit for the 5.4 3V's. Just FYI in case that might interest you -
Good luck on getting the damage to your vehicle repaired and being compensated for that theft - sorry to hear that happened to you!

You're very welcome, of course!
I hope you are able to get your vehicle's damage taken care of properly & quickly, without having to bear that repair expense out of pocket or have to call in your insurance company for that loss, etc.
Best of luck with all of that,
