Xcalibrator2, any release date and price info?

This could be the device I have been looking for. For the past year or so I have been looking at a few different OBDII code reading/data logging devices. AutoTap and AutoEnginuity's Scan Tool for basically data logging and code reading, but more for data logging.
Now, with the above two mentioned devices you could purchase the software for the Ford enhanced data, everything from water and oil temps, fuel pressure, 200 – 300 plus different sensors.
I believe the Predator supports many of the Ford sensors as well but not sure how many.
I have held off purchasing AutoTap or Scan Tool because you can purchase the Predator for about $400 with a custom tune (I believe that to be true, any supporting vendors please correct me).
It cost close to $400 for AutpTap or the Scan Tool with the Ford enhanced data so you can’t go wrong with the Predator and perhaps this XCalibrator2 depending on price.
So, any information on what Ford sensors and how many different sensors can be data logged? Any idea of price? And lastly, how many custom tunes will this hold and what is the ball park price?
I sure hope Fast Gator don’t read this thread…
It will hold up to 3 custom tunes + the stock tune. Additional files could be stored on your computer and then put on the x-cal as needed.
The datalogger is better than anything out there, its many many times faster than any other manufacturers datalogger. SCT dealers currently have access to what is basically the same datalogger (with no flashing), its called the raptor and has been in use for almost a year. All of the sensors and many parameters can be datalogged with it, more than anything else out there. When I run my car down the track, tune it for driveability, or run it on my dyno I log about 32 parameters that tell me about idle control, fuel trims, and what the auto trans is doing. The resolution is high enough that I can monitor how long it takes my converter clutch to fully engage, when shifts get commanded and when they actually happen.

WOW. Good this I saw this post, my paper work for the XC1 should be here tomorrow. I'll hold out now intil this new XC2 comes out. Sweet I can't wait.

Hello everyone,
There is no specific release date, and the exact pricing IS NOT KNOWN, either. None of that is known at this time by the manufacturer's staff - the only thing that is known in that specific regard is that the new unit will of course be more expensive than the current unit, as it has to be to pay for those additional features.
The most important aspect is that ALL owners of current generation Xcalibrators will be able to upgrade to the next generation unit (once it actually exists & starts shipping) for a very low cost. This was decided from Day 1 to insure that nobody with current generation Xcalibrators loses out on *anything* because they own the current Xcalibrator - just as we have gone over in great detail here numerous times before. That is something that no other manufacturer in this industry has ever done before, and SCT is to be commended for that - no other tuning product manufacturer has ever taken care of their current customers like that before!
As time goes on, you will see more & more magazine ads for the next generation unit, just as every manufacturer does in preparation for release of a future generation product. That has been done by virtually everyone in this business for decades, manufacturers always advertise products in advance. And to protect the investment of ALL owners of current generation units, they have the ability to upgrade to the new unit when it actually comes out.
Once anything else is known about the next generation unit, WE will make that announcement right here, so everyone will know just what the scoop is.

Sounds like a great product and I can’t see it being priced more then other competitive products such as the Predator. Granted it will have some more bells and whistles but now days that is more towards gaining market share rather then making big profits. I really can’t see this product being more then $500. Of course that is my personal opinion but if its more then that I don’t think it will sell well when there is something like the Predator that could do basically the same thing with not as many “goodies”. Goodies are nice but not worth a lot more money…
I agree that some companies like to advertise before they are actually finished with production but reputable companies, such as SCT, would not put out advertisement if a particular product is not ready to ship within a few months of that advertisement so the April time frame sounds creditable.
I really hope this happens in the next few months because it sounds like it would really fit my needs. It basically comes down to two options for me, this Xcalibrator2 or the Predator. I’ll see what happens and how much more information comes out…
