Ford's hidden test fearure THIS IS COOL
Ford decided to include a cool hidden feature (HEC Dealer test mode) in the instrument cluster starting in 99. With a simple press of the trip button and turn of the key you could not only test your instrument cluster (gauges), oil pressure and speedo senders, but get a real time digital readout of your speed, tach and other info as you drive your F150.

What would be great now is if an after market company would make something like an overhead console that would plugin to the capabilities so as not to have to restart your truck to do this.

HI!... SCREWIT : That is nothing new. I discovered that same diagnostic mode about 2 years ago. If you do a search you will probably find the threads on it. I found it by accident when cleaning my interior.LOL! It's a fun little toy. I really like the "MPH" digital speedometer for when my truck is going past 130MPH!LOL!

My truck doesnt have the digital mileage meter it has the old school analog gauge with the numbers that flip over.
