Thumbs up

Good idea; I did the same thing with 93. That will work just fine.

Question 92 octane before chip is installed?

Will filling up with 92 octane before my chip is installed hurt my engine or spark plugs now. My chip should be here in a few days, and I would like to have the truck prepped and ready for the install. I have heard about people having a ping because the 92 ocatane they had filled up with had been dilluted by the 87 they had in the tank. I would like to avoid this problem.

Hi rockycarl,

It won't "hurt" any engine parts to fill up with premium when you have the Superchip on it's way and will be there shortly. You may notice that your driveability isn't quite as good, but this is strictly short-term, and will clear up as soon as the Superhcip is installed.

I think you have a great idea, and we'd rather see someone have premium in the tank a day or two ahead of time rather than after installing the Superchip, so in this particular case, you should be just fine.
