Does the Superchip get rid of the top speed limiter on a 97 Ford F-150 w/ 4.6 auto. If it helps, my computer no. is IMP4 and the calibration no. is 6-48D. This is my first time on this board so I haven't seen this answered yet. Thanx.

Hi chech77,

The 3 inch diameter is the diameter of the pipe in an aftermarket cat-back exhaust system I was referring to in response to a question, so the 3 inch diameter usually starts just after the last catalytic converter in these late-model F-150's. That also depends on just which aftermarket system used, as some manufacturers do things a little differently, but that's basically what I was talking about, if that answers your question.

This is to anyone that can HELP. I have a 1998 4.6l sc 4x4, it still has the factor exhaust and no other mods.I am looking to change that. I was wondering if I would get good results by just getting dual (single in dual out) exhaust w/no muffler and a superchip, or do I have to get exhaust, superchip and the airaidFIPK. Granted I don't exspect to have a dragster but I would like to get a few more ponies. Also according to my wife I am on a limited bugget. Thanks to anyone that can help me out.

I'd do the FIPK & chip first. I will probably get a FIPK when it gets above 32 in this state but have no plans to change exhaust-been there, done that. I also had less that great results with a FIPK in a 95 but these guys almost have me talked into it.

Hi f-150lover,

Well, the order of best bang-for-the-buck is the Superchip, an airbox elimination kit, and then the cat-back exhaust.

There are any number of ways to approach this, and you could certainly do what you propose, the Superchip and the exhaust, and then when finances permit, do the FIPK kit.

The nice thing about mods in these areas, meaning airbox kits, exhaust & Superchip, is that you can do them in any order you prefer. You can do them one at a time, two at a time, or all at once.

Many people like to do them in order of best bang-for-the-buck, and so will go with the Superchip first, and then some guys have to hear that V-8 throbbing first before anything else. And it'll all work just fine, you can do them in any order you like, so don't worry. Just stay within your budget, and you'll keep the whole household happy.

Good luck!
