Hi surF150,

That's pretty common, after running the Superchip you get used to it, and then when you pull it out and drive the vehicle for a few days without it, you realize just how much it was really doing for the vehicle.

Glad you got it back in where it belongs!

Have fun & thanks for your post,

Thumbs up The chip makes a difference.

I tried running my truck without the chip, for a week. I was surprised how much performance was lost. My truck felt slower, less responsive, and the shifts were too early, and felt on the soft side (even with the shift kit). I reinstalled the chip yesterday. What a difference! It felt like I dropped a bigger motor in it. Much more fun to drive with the chip in.

Hell, I've had mine out since July/August and just put it back in for kicks.

It sure does run better! But at a price...

What I dont understand is why does the engine seem to run so much better at cold start with the chip? Is it the gas or the chip or what?

Hi Rand,

It's smoother during warm-up thanks to superior programming. Superchips real focus is on driveability; power of of course important, but being able to actually improve driveability is key with them, it always has been. They do pay attention to driveabiilty during warm-up. Just running premium gas on the factory program won't do that, it can't, the burn rate is off, as premium burns slower, and the stock fuel curves are calibrated for regular. Some people also comment that after warm up, the engine idles a little bit smoother, and that's the fuel curve adjustments for premium gas helping there, as we don't change anything else at idle.

It's always nice to feel the effects of the Superchip again after not using it for awhile, though I admit I can't bear to not use it for any length of time; I had thought you removed it the first week of November though, for some strange reason, my memory is playing tricks on me again...............

Have fun,
