Hi Robin,
We do anytime we install a new "go-fast" part, but it's not going to make much of a difference with that type of part (FIPK), in all reality. With us it's just a habit to clear the computer anytime we install any new performance part, so you start with a "fresh slate", so to speak, and the fuel curves can do their adjustment perhaps a tad sooner.
This procedure of clearing the computer is most important whenever you change the computer's program, it makes a big difference in your immediate results when you install a performance chip, for example. But other parts like an FIPK kit or a cat-back exhaust don't make much of a difference, usually not enough to really feel in the seat of the pants, but we do it anyway.
You probably already know this, but just in case, the way we do it is to install the part, test-start the engine, and then shut it back off. Disconnect the battery again, turn the headlights on for 5 minutes to drain all residual voltage from the system, then shut the lights back off, re-connect the battery, and go enjoy your new power.
Have fun,
