Where is the computer??
HI!... RANGERBOY : Your computer is located on the passenger side of your truck, up under the dash. To gain access to it you must 1ST remove your plastic "KICK PLATE" that is in the entrance way into your truck. 2ND remove the plastic "KICK PANEL" that is located betwwen the floor and the bottom of the dash up against the passenger side of your truck. These panels just "SNAP" into place and can be removed by simple pulling on them carefully. Once you have removed the panels, you just have to look up under the dash and you will se a small steel box bolted to the side of the firewall. This box is you computer. There is a dark plastic clip that holds the computer to the braket. Just simply remove this clip with your fingers. Then from the engine compartment look down behind the battery and you will see a bundle of wires going to a plastic connector. This is the back of the computer. Get a 1/4 inch rachet with a 10mm socket and reach down behind the battery and loose the 10mm bolt that holds the connector wire harness on to the computer. The bolt WILL NOT come away from the connector! So just keep turning the bolt untill the connector comes away from the back of the computer. Then from inside the truck just simply reach up and grab the computer and pull it out. It should only take you about 10 minutes to do this. Then simply follow the instructions that come with the SUPERCHIP and clean the computer terminals and install your chip. Mike Troyer would probably be able to go into this with more detail then me.

Hi Rangerboy,
Your computer is inside the cabin, on the passenger side. It's to the right of the dash assembly and above the passenger's kick panel. To get an idea of it's exact vertical placement, you can open your hood and look behind the battery, on the firewall. There you will see the computer's wiring harness, with a single 10mm bolt head dead-center, doing what looks like a dead-end into the firewall. Actually, that is where it connects to the computer, as the computer is mounted so that almost all of it is inside the cabin, but the first inch or so protrudes thru an opening in the firewall, so it can connect to it's wiring harness. Anyway, seeing where the wiring harness is there on the firewall right behind the battery gives you an idea of exactly where it will be placed vertically inside the cabin.
The computer is an aluminum box, rectangle shaped, it is 1.5 inches tall by 6 inches wide by 9 inches long. Inside the cabin to the right of the dash you will see that the computer is held to it's mounting bracket by a black pressure clip.
I hope that helps, & let us know if you need more info.
