Might need to reprogram the tach input signal to the remote start unit or change the tach pick up location, that tells the remote starter the engine is running.

HI 25,
By all means, do have it checked out, as there is obviously some type of problem.
The Superchip cannot have anything to do with this, so whatever the problem is, whether it's reprogramming of your remote that is needed, some type of malfunction or failure within the system etc., it has nothing to do with the Superchip, it's a physical impossibility.
Remember, all the Superchip does is store a set of instructions that provides the tuning for your engine, and the shift characteristics for your automatic transmission if so equipped, nothing more. It is not connected to, nor does it communicate with, anything else anywhere on or in the vehicle. It's funny sometimes the number of things that people will want to attribute to the Superchip that it cannot possibly affect, such as the title of this thread.
We have remote start systems in most of our vehicles here, and they all have Superchips, and there has never been a problem with any of the remote start systems in our vehicles.
If you want a good laugh 25_AG (and right about now I'm guessing you could use one, like most of us), we've actually had people claim that the Superchip had something to do with: wheel alignment (yes, that's actually been said), 4WD functions, alarm systems, remote start systems, CB radios, automatic radio antenna not extending properly, etc., you name it, and we've heard it. Of course, when we investigate, we find that they rarely if ever remove the Superchip to isolate the problem. When they do this, and return to "baseline", meaning the condition the vehicle was in prior to installation of the Superchip, they quickly find the condition exists without the Superchip installed as well (of course), and that the timing of the problem was either incorrect, or just a coincidence. It's human nature, I guess.
Another point is, you may not have had a problem disconnecting the battery before, but it could still very well be the problem, or it may not, it still has to be considered, as it is a distinct possibility, we've seen it happen before. Disconnect the battery for long enough, and some of them will lose communications with and won't re-initialize on their own. That may or may not be the case in this situation, time will tell.
I think you're going to find that this is either a programming problem with the remote system, or that something within it has failed.
The last time (and this was just very recently) that someone blamed the Superchip for an alarm system problem, the actual culprit found at the dealership that installed it was that the alarm had not been wired properly in the first place. What happened to that person was the remote did the opposite of what it was supposed to, locking the doors when they were supposed to unlock, etc.
Good luck, and let us know what you find!

Hi 26_AG,
I'm sory to hear you're having a problem with your remote start system.
The Superchip itself has nothing to do with your remote start, or with any alarm system, etc. There is no interface with, or communications of any kind between, the Superchip and your remote start system.
One thing that *can* happen however, is that when you did the battery disconnect to install the Superchip, your remote system may have lost it's programming, and it simply needs to be reprogrammed, we have seen that happen before, so I would check that out with either the manufacturer of your remote start system or the installer, if you did not install it yourself. If you have documentation on this remote start kit, see what it says about what happens when you disconnect the battery, as that is most likely the problem, we have seen that happen before.
Let us know what you find on that, & good luck!
