I'm sold

Mike,

I hope you are never going to get tired of reading these, but, I am another(here goes)ECSTATIC Superchip owner. I don't have that many mods yet, but I'm thinking of going to Houston Performance and getting my three pulls for $75.00 on the dyno. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know the installation was a snap at about 25 minutes total. The difference in power is overwhelmingly enjoyable(it kicks). It is so hard to keep my right foot out of the throttle I had to get a Priceline gas card. I have a set of the Pacesetter armor coated headers coming, and Neal is going to post his results on his twin Derale 16 inch fans for us.I'm just not sure if electric fans will work well during Texas summers. I am also thinking about porting the heads and intake after the header install. I saw where Neal had posted a modification score sheet in another post, but I can't seem to find it again. I am trying to figure my next step to that magical 300 H.P. to the rear wheel mark. Is there any particular modification point where it becomes very important to reburn the chip? Thanks for your help and easing of my anxiety on the chip. I had apparently made the install more of a monster in my head than it really was. Take care.

Rick

Hi Rick,

OK, you got me, you're right! We never get tired of hearing from happy people. https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif

I'm glad your installation went smoothly, that's how it's supposed to be. Luckily they put the computer in the F-150 in an easy place to get to, and that always helps.

I think the twin fans like Neal has will be excellent anywhere in the country, Neal did quite a bit of research on this I believe, but of course he can tell yo more. His list of modifications is in his signature, but I don't know about a separate modifications "score sheet" of his, you might want to ask him directly about that. He did get his fans installed, and he says he's happy with how much quicker his engine gains rpms without having to turn that heavy mechanical fan.

Probably the best thing to do is for us to talk over the phone, to figure what all you need to do to in terms of more mnodifications to actually get to 300 hp at the rear wheels. That will require about 365-375 at the flywheel, as the 4R70W powertrains generally eat up about 65 hp or so in driveline losses, while the heavier-duty 4R100 automatics eat up about 70 hp in driveline losses.

Have fun, & thanks for your post!
