Question Alternative ways to find the computer code?

i have limited time i work about 55 hours a week and well..
i was wondering if there is an alternative way to getting the computer code for a superchip for my truck .. the computer code sticker is torn off .. so could i like have the vehical VIN # and call the dealer or something and get the CPU code becuase i really dont have time to rip the car apart and get the pc out and etc.. plus my supply of tools is very limited tourqe sockets and all that crap.. well thanks guys .

Mike btw if you are reading this i was wondering what your simple opinion is on ARCO gas .. becuase gas prices down in orange county california are "2 DOLLARS a GALLONG FOR PREMIUM" and the price is going up every 4 days like 1-2 cents in summer it will probably be like for god sakes near 2.50 or 2.80 and i cant afford 50-80 dollars for a tank of gas..... just want your honest non salesmen opinion on that Thanks!@

One way that does not require you to tear apart the truck..is to open the hood and look behind the battery on the firewall where the computer wire bundle sits (mass of wires).
You will see the computer number (ie ATC2) on the part of the computer that sticks out.

I noticed this on mine....

My computer had a black plastic cover where the Superchips plugs in and the code was also on that cover.

Wink

moose-man,

Actually..you don't need any tools or a flashlight (unless you look at night). The battery stays put.

Piece of cake.....

Dear Moose-man,

Sorry, but I don't have any good data on Arco gasoline. It may work very well, I just can't tell you on that brand, sorry! One of the best informal indicators of energy content is to track your gas mileage, as generally the higher energy fuels will deliver the best gas mileage. What we suggest is that if you have a brand you've been using with good results, then try sticking with it at first, and see if you like it with the Superchip as well.

With regards to finding your computer code, you can also go to the computer itself, which is on the passenger side inside the cabin just above the passenger kick panel. It will be held to it's mounting bracket by a black pressure clip, which you can simply grab and pull straight off, the computer won't fall. Then look on the back of the computer where this black clip was covering, and there will be another code sticker right there.

Please let me know if you need more help finding your code stickers!
