Dear jarrettruelz88,
That all depends on exactly what vehicle we're talking about. If it's the late-model F-150 V-8 automatic, the Superchip: Removes the upshift delay signal that elongates and softens the upshift. This reduces slippage and aids transmission longevity as well as improve shift feel and acceleration. It eliminates the engine power reduction during and after the upshift, which is caused by transitional spark retards. It also increases line pressure, but not by much, about 20%. Just enough to make the shift execute quicker and a bit firmer. These changes make quite a bit of difference in the feel & operation of the transmission. The transmission shifts quicker and firmer, but it is still very smooth on light throttle. The upshifts get progressively firmer as you give it progressively more throttle. Most other chips only increase line pressure, and do nothing to remove the power-robbing transitional spark retards or the shift delay signal. Something else you get only with the Superchip is the removal of the *downshift* delays, and again, the transitional spark retards after the downshift. For example, let's say you're cruising on the highway at 65-70 mph or whatever, and you romp down on the gas to pass another vehicle; with the factory program, there is a .75-1.5 second downshift delay, and then the power is also reduced for the next 400 rpm after the downshift. The result is poor performance in that situation, making you have to plan your passing moves carefully and well in advance. With the Superchip, the downshift delay is removed, so it downshifts almost immediately, and there is an increase in power rather than a reduction in engine power as the spark retards are removed. So it downshifts very quickly and pulls hard immediately. In other words, it enables much better "point and squirt" moves when the situation arises. There are other areas that are addressed only by the Superchip, but it's to much to go over here in this forum. Please feel free to give us a call if you'd like to discuss this in greater detail.

Fast...are you planning on putting one in your 99 'Amazon Green' truck? I think you had one in your previous F-150 (if I am not mistaken)...this way you just might be able to pass that PINTO!
Like Fast pointed out and from my research..he is 100% correct.
And as always...Mike...the superchips guru *is* the true expert!

Dear Linedog,
No, the Superchip is *not* the same as a JET chip, or any other chip. The Superchip is by far the superior product, which is why you see almost everyone using a chip here using the Superchip. There are very big differences between other chips and the Superchip, but it's too much info to go over here briefly, so you might want to give us a call, and we'll be happy to go over all this information with you.
The Superchip, unlike other chips, is programmed individually for each specific vehicle, depending on which software revision was loaded into your vehicle's computer from the factory. This yields a much better product that does far more for the vehicle, instead of the "generic" programs you get in other chips.
To locate your vehicle's computer code,. simply open your passenger door, and look in the front part of the door frame. In between the door hinges there will be a sticker with 3 letters and a number on it, something like ATC2, CPE2, etc. That identifies your individual vehicle's software revision, and allows us to program *your* vehicle specifically.
