Smile Chip in 4.2

First time post. Not much ya'll haven't already heard, but just got my chip installed on my 4.2 auto and I love it. Really nice shifting! Can't wait for gas prices to come down. I'm now looking for a good place to buy a K&N air filter. Maybe someone could advise me on that.

Keithtas, You might want to hold off on that K&N, Airaid is suppose to release their intake kit for the 4.2 real soon.

Hey Darrin & Keithtas,

That is an *excellent* suggestion, to wait for Airaid's airbox elimination kit, instead of just using the drop-in replacement K&N air filter element. The airbox elimination kits generally add about 2.5-3 times as much power gain as the drop-in replacement K&N air filter element does in the V-8 F-150's, and the Airaid kits do use K&N air filter elements. Yes, these kits are considerably more expensive, but they also add considerably more power too.

Either way, you can purchase the K&N air filter or the Airaid kits right here in F150online's Digital Marketplace. If you have any questions about the new products, you can call Roger Lemere Enterprises, their number is in the Digital Marketplace.

Best of luck to you both!
