Question Installed Superchip correctly?

Finished putting in the chip tonight. Question if the truck starts after the installation, is everything correct? The reason I ask is that the computer didn't exactly line up with the holes that hold it in place inside the cab. They were off maybe 1/4 inch , probably less than that. Truck started up so I am assuming it is okay, just doesn't look like it is positioned just right. Haven't had time to drive it yet so I was wondering if someone could tell me if this was okay.

I am not sure exactly what you are talking about, but when I installed my superchip, I had to manipulate(bend) the bracket that holds the computer, to get the computer to sit correctly. I called Mike and he said that it was normal for me to have to bend the bracket. I am pretty sure if the truck starts, the chip is in correctly. Hope this helped.

Yes, as long as the vehicle starts after the installation, hte Superchip is installed properly. For uses literally hundreds of different mount types, styles, and orientations for the same computer in their many vehicles over the years, and it is not uncommon to have a be a bit creative with some of them. On the late model F-150's, it's just a matter of putting the plastic slide-of clip back on a bit further down, and on some, you might need to move the bracket a bit, etc. Overall, somewhere between 85%-90% of them are fine, and you don't have to do anything, and then there are "the rest".

So as long as your vehicle started, the Superchip is working.

Enjoy,

I notice, by your signature, that you have a Super Duty. Your computer mounting is different than in the F-150's. I had the same problem with getting the computer to go back into it's original holes because of the "sleeve" type holder that is in the SD's. I just applied a little bit of pressure and the computer fit back into the original holes.

The Superchip works great!!

Doug.
