G-Tech

I hope it's ok to post this here in SuperChips! The main reason I'm doing it is because I think this is the coolest gizmo I've seen in a while and I think it may allow some without close access to tracks or dynos to determine their perf. specs. I heard about the G-Tech else where on this website and I checked it out at SUMMITRACING.COM ... I ordered one on the spot! should be here Saturday. As I'm also having my dyno done that day I should have a good opportunity to give it a real bench test...I'll keep you posted (literally!)

wynjammer,
I too have the G-tech I've had it quite awhile. There was quite a debate over the accuracy of it in another post somewhere, but I have found it handy for comparisons. I just finished putting my SVO (Powerdyne) SC on my truck this evening. I was going to do it Saturday but could not wait. It took me 5 hours of intense effort but thats still less than it took to put the headers on. I have sent my chip in to be re-flashed and man this thing hits the rev limiter right now which causes it to fall on its face so I can't wait to get my chip back. If it makes as much difference as it did without the blower it will be great. How did yours do befor/after the chip? Well I'm anxiuos to here how your dino comparison goes.
Have fun and God Bless!!!

I believe the G-Tech would be accurate for 1/4 mile times and 0-60 times. But not very accurate for Horsepower numbers. I would just go run my truck on a dyno....

The lack of "pinpoint" accuracy in the G-Tech was pointed out in some posts a few weeks ago. It's not good for increments of about a half-second or less, and they aren't good for documenting relatively small power gains, like 10-20hp.

But for well under $200, it's a very fun unit, and I've played with a few of them myself. Certainly worth the money! It's going to be very interesting to see how it compares to the Dynojet used by Wynjammer, where "Wynjammer" is doing the dyno runs, that will be great data to have!

My G-Tech Might get here today..If anyone is delivering that is. Since I just had a dyno done Saturday I'm looking forward to do a good comparison. I will likely head out to some desert highway and do a dozen runs or so to get a good average. I will add the results to my Dyno post when I have the new data! I sure would like to see what my engine would do in a 4x2 reg cab short bed!
