Question No Performance Chip?

I am looking for a chip to only correct the odemter and speedometer for my 2003 4.2L V6. I am not looking at performance gains because I cannot afford premium gas. Also if possible, could the chip increase shift firmness as well. I have a automagic. Over all:a chip to only correct speedo and odemeter for 4.56 rear end gears and 35 inch tires and increased shift firmness.

I looked on superchip's website, but I dont see one with what Iam looking for

You don't need a chip to re calibrate your speedometer or odometer, take it to your local dyno shop or mechanic and i'm pretty sure that there is something they can do to fix that.

But man i have the same set up you do but with the 4.6L V8 and i'm under powered so i can't imagine how bad it is with thoes 35's on that 4.2L.

But yeah your local shop should be able to re calibrate that for you at very little charge but who knows, some places vary.

Good Luck man!!

Hi sk8inrj1,

Because yours is a 1999 or newer model, the speedo has to be corrected in the PCM - generally speaking, neither traditional speedometer shops nor mechanics, etc. can do that on '99 & newer model Fords. So yes, you'll want a custom chip to do what you need.

That is not a problem, we can certainly take care of that for you - just give my staff a call at our number listed below & they can take your custom order. If you would prefer to speak with me personally, I'll be back in the office on Friday (I'm down at Superchips right now, actually) & I'll be hjappy to go over this in detail with you.

The bottom line is yes, we can take care of this for you!
