Downshift from 4th - 2nd.

Ive been noticing that with my tranmission, when cruising around 35mph in 4th gear, if i give it enough gas to make it down shift, it hits third for a split second then down to second. I took it to my tranny guy, he said nothing was wrong, and that it was probably the programming. I told him I have a Superchip, and he said thats probably whats causing it to go from 4th-3rd-2nd, instead of 4th-2nd like it should.

Anybody else experience this? BTW, my tranny was completely rebuild about 8000 miles ago.

i think at 35 you should still be in 3rd. It should hit 4th right about 40, and if you decellerate to about 37 itll hold 4th. What you probably noticing is your torque converter unlocking, then a shift from 3rd to 2nd.

The guy had his computer pluged in, and we were driving it around. He said that its in 4th gear when its doing it. Remember I have the 3.73 gears, so I will hit 4th gear before the 3.55s will. I was just wondering if Mike had anything to say about this..
