looking for more horse power from my 4.2L V6
looking for more horse power from my 4.2L V6
I have a 2003 Ford F150 Extended cab short box Sport with a 4.2L V6.
I origionaly ordered a 4.6L but noticed that the horse power difference is'nt a whole lot different so I opted for the V6 for it's better fuel economy.
Well, I need the little bit more horse power. I pull a 16 foot "Southview" enclosed trailer.
Although this truck performes better than my 1992 Ford F150 ext.cab short box with a 302, I'd like to get a little more power.
I'm leaning towards a performance chip. Can someone reccomend a manufacturer that makes a performance chip for the 4.2 LV6. I will also be installing a K&N air filter.
Thanx..........1972 Torino Man

Hi Torino Man,
There's *plenty* you can do to improve the performance of that 4.2 V6 F-150, and the Superchip is the best place to start from a bang for the buck standpoint - you're on the right track there.
I'd suggest taking look at our web site over at www.TroyerPerformance.com - click on "Shop" once the home page loads, and then you'll see all the various different parts sections, Intake, Exhaust, Superchips, and so on. Take a look at the Performance Packages section for our Stage 1 kit for the 4.2 V6 as well.
Feel free to give us a call, our number is listed below & we can go over all of this in detail with you, if you like.
Good luck!
