Lost my programing book need HELP!!!

Ok guys I know someone has to know this out there. I just got new Goodrich TA KO 285/70-17 on my truck. Want to use the programer to adjust the tire size in the computer so I know how fast I am going over . When adjusting it gives you a whole number then breaks it down in quarters. A 285/70 is roughly a 32.7 so I set the programer for 32.75 was this correct?

Hi Quad,

Yes, that is fine.

The Micro Tuner gives you 1/4" resolution for the tire height, so you enter the closest 1/4" interval. In your case, if the tire physically measures 32.7" (and you'll want to physically *measure* it, don't depend on the P-metric sizing to be correct for actual installed height on taller tires), then entering 32.75" would be just about perfect.

When measuring tire height, do it on level pavement (not ground), and measure from the pavement to the top of the tire at it's higher point, which will of course be the center. Sometimes those P-metric sizes just aren't accurate enough & you can get speedo error, especially with tires much taller than about 31" or so.

Good luck!

Lost Book

Call Superchips to get a replacement book. I misplaced mine and got one from them in a few days.

Also, it would help if you have access to a radar to check your speedometer. I noticed when I measured my tires and put this in the program my speedometer was still off by 3-5 mph.

I used a certified radar to check my speedometer. I then changed the tire measurements by 1/4" increments until I got it fairly close. You can never get it totally accurate due to many variables such as tire expansion/contraction while driving at various speeds.
