Using Micro tuner: Directions
Using Micro tuner: Directions
Mike, I can't find the instruction booklet for my microtuner. I need to uninstall the program, putting it back to stock, and can't remember if I have the steps right.
1. Pull fuel pump fuse.
2. Plug in Microtuner.
3. Power it on and follow on-screen prompts.
4. Replace fuel pump fuse.
Is that the basic procedure? Thanks

Hi Ed,
Yes, that is the basic procedure. The Micro Tuner is phantom-powered by the OBD-II port, so it requires no external power supply, just the plug-in to the OBD-II port, and of course the battery needs to be fully charged when flashing the PCM.
What happens after you have used the Micro Tuner to tune the vehicle is that when you plug it back into the same vehicle, it will recognize that it's been tuned already and ask you on the menu screen if you want to "return to stock," and you just follow those instructions. Of course, the fuel pump fuse has to be removed, and then replaced when finished as you pointed out, and usually the Micro Tuner will even prompt you with a reminder to remove that fuse, but DON'T COUNT on that! It will prompt you about the fuse when you are first tuning the vehicle, installing the Superchips tuning, but it may not always prompt you about the fuse when returning back to stock, in other words.
What I would suggest is giving us a call & we can fax you over the directions, so you'll have them right away. I don't have any way to email them, before anyone asks.
But we're happy to FAX those directions to you if you can get us a fax #.
Or, worst case, you can call us and we can walk you thru the procedure over the phone as you do it, telling you each step in the instructions. We'll be happy to help you any way we can.
The bottom line is, you need to have your instructions for future reference anyway, so we need to make the arrangements to get you another copy of those docs ASAP I'd say, & we're happy to do that, we'll just photocopy a set & shoot it to you via FAX, snail mail, etc., and we'll be happy to walk you thru this over the phone if you like as well, just give us a call as soon as you can please, OK? Thanks!
