Mike a "QQ" (quick question)
Mike~
I will be re-burning my chip for headers after I buy your Fan kit, but I was wondering if you carry/recommend LONG LASTING U-JOINTS? This might be ot of your realm (Performance), so just let me know. I figured I might as well kill two birds with one stone when I call you.
Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,
This may sound funny since we do so much performance stuff, but no, we don't stock U-joints. About the only time we do that is if we're supplying a custom racing driveshaft, in some of those cases we'll also provide the U-Joints the driveshaft manufacturer specs for the application, but that's not often.
If memory serves, Spicer generally makes a good U-joint, and the main thing to watch out for these days is the U-Joints that have grease fittings, which most have these days. They're a little bit weaker than those without a grease fitting, so for high-performance, I prefer a sealed U-Joint that you can't slap a grease gun on to lubricate, as they're stronger.
Ford's U-Joints are generally just fine, and what we're using on all our F-150's here at Performance. There isn't a significant inherent weakness concern, especially for an under 400 HP street vehicle overall, I'd say. Our Lightning is way over 500 HP, and it's using the stock factory U-Joint (of course it gets a performance aluminum driveshaft & heavy duty U-Joints from the factory).
If you have any good 4X4 shops in your area, they can usually let you know which U-Joints they like best for their lifted applications, those usually see a lot of abuse & extreme driveshaft & pinion angles, etc. Otherwise, you can just stick with the factory units or use a Spicer, etc.
