AirForce One

OK I just installed my Airforce one and have a question about it. I was wondering should i disconnect the battery and let the computer relearn it's new idle and such or is this not needed. There was nothing in the directions about it so I figured it did NOT have to be done.

It's always a good idea to reset the computer. Just disconnect the battery overnight....never hurts

I agree. Everytime I install a mod, I re-set the battery. You can do it over night, or you can do it in 10 minutes just by disconnecting the neg. terminal and turning on the lights.

GO FOR IT DUDE!!!

Hey Mf150 I didn't know the battery could be reset.LOL

Just messing with you man I couldn't pass that one up. As far as how to do it I already am well aware of disconnecting the negative terminal to clear and reset the computer. Been doing it for a long amount of years. I just wondered if it was necassary. I really hate doing it then you have to reset the clock reset all the radio stations and reprogram that dam computer on shift point sand all The truck drives like a sisiy after doing the battery disconnect.

Hi Richard,

No, that is not necessary at all, you can just install the AF1 and drive the vehicle without clearing the PCM.

Adaptive strategy is going to be at work anyway, it just takes longer when you don't clear the PCM after a new mechanical configuration change.

You won't have any ill effects or symptoms from not clearing the PCM after installing an intake kit, or a cat-back exhaust system, etc., so don't worry about it, you'll be fine.

Me too my friend, me too.

Don't let age bother you....guys in their 50's are still winning Winston Cup races, & as we get older, we have more patience & wisdom at the drag strip & on the road, too. At least, those of us that managed to survive the stupidity of what we did when we were young, especially my sorry old butt.

Well that is my largest fault Patience in fact my lack of it got my impatient rear end a ticket the other day for passing on the right shoulder. Dam I hate stupid drivers. Guess I should have learned some of that patience. I have lots of it when it comes to hunting and fishing but none for everything else. I do tend to have a good amount of wisdom though so I guess it all evens out. AHHHHH the ways of our youth somedasy when I look back I wonder how min the heck I am even still here with some of the things I did. WOOOOOOO
