Question Micro Tuner / Code

Just ordered a Micro Tuner for my '03 Screw 4.6L.

My present computer code is: CFS2.

I was wondering if anyone else has this code and the Micro Tuner in use.

Evidently, the present computer code must already be installed into the Tuner in order to use it to tune your computer. If it isn't, then you have to download THAT program into the Tuner and send it off to Superchips to undate the Tuner.

It's only about a 10 day turnaround, so the wait won't be that long. I'm just curious if I'll have to do the update or if I'll be able to use it right away.

TIA

Hi Dave,

Well, the CFS2 code was released by Superchips on January 30th. So every production run of Micro Tuners made after that date is supposed to have that and any other new codes. Micro Tuenrs are generally made weekly, so once a week each new production run gets all the new codes that have been released the prior week, just to give you an idea of the actual process in manufacturing at Superchips.

Our inventory here is very "fresh" as we get shipments of Micro Tuners every week at least, so it should be in there by now, according to the date of that program's release.

Normally the procedure is to include each new code in all new manufacturing runs/loads on the Micro Tuenrs, so any Micro Tuner built after the date of the release of that program should have it.

The bottom line is I'm really not helping you much answer-wise, I'm really only telling you that based on the timeframe, it *should* be in there, but that's no guarantee. We do have a call in to try to determine this, but it sometimes takes a few days to get a correct answer on whether a particular code is included for sure or not.

One important thing to remember is that if you get the message "Call Superchips" on the LCD screen on the Micro Tuner when you install it, call *us* here at Performance instead, and let *us* make the arrangements to have it updated if necessary. When we make those arrangments on your behalf, which we do for everyone that buys a Micro Tuner from us for a 2003 with a new code, it tends to go quicker & smoother. Hopefully you won't need to do that, but should that come up, please just give us a shout, ok? And if we get a firm answer on that code before it gets to you, we'll let you know!

Thanks for the in depth information, Mike. Maybe I'll be able to start 'tuning' next weekend.
