Mike...

Hey!

Will I have to reburn my Superchip when adding headers ( 01/F150/EME3/4.6A) if I have the following mods...

cat back exhaust
K&N FIPK
ASP pulleys

I want to get the JBA storty headers (ceramic coated).

Is ceramic synonomous with Jet-Hot coating? If not what's the difference?

thanks...be in touch soon!

Hello mf150,

As we tell everyone, you'll need to call us for us to go over this with you in order for us to give you an answer on this.

In some situations shorty headers will cause a need for tuning changes, and sometimes they won't. Usually shorty headers won't cause one of these engines to go lean enough to actually hurt anything, you just don't get all the power gain you could, but that's not *always* the case. We'll need to go over eveything in detail for us to make a judgement call on that. When we tune for the headers, you''ll pick up about another 5 HP or so from that tuning.

On the issue of coating, Jet-Hot is indeed a ceramic coating, but that doesn't mean that *all* ceramic coatings are equal to the Jet-Hot process, of course. In general, when people talk about ceramic coating for headers, it's the Jot-Hopt process, though not *always*. Jet-Hot is the only brand of ceramic coating for headers that we'll use here at Performance, as they do it properly, coating inside and out and they do a beautiful job. The coating also gets you more power gain too, by keeping the heat in the exhaust where it belongs, instead of escaping by radiating out thru uninsulated header tubing.

Give us a call when you get a chance to go over this for an appropriate answer to this in *your* situation, better safe than sorry, ok? Thanks!

Hi Matt,

Well, right now it's racing season of course, so it's taking generally about 7-10 *business* days from the time we can get each custom program into the system until the program is actually ready. To which you have to add shipping time from us to you, to send your Superchip back to you. If we can get a program done quicker, then of course we will automatically.

It's a matter of just how many custom programs are ahead of yours when your order actually hits - it's early in the racing season, so many custom programs are being ordered right now. Thus, instead of it taking just a day or two to get a custom program done + shipping time to get the module back to the customer, it's back up to our more normal time frame of about 7-10 working days to get each program done, + however long the shipping time is. For example, some of our racers are having us overnight their modules back out, so that only adds 1 day, though it makes it more expensive due to higher shipping costs for overnight versus say, Ground service.

Bottom line? Figure 7-10 working days + shipping time from us to you, and of course, if we can get it done sooner we will.

Talk to you soon!
